Sustainable Green Printing Partnership Announces Four New Board of Directors Members
Fairfax, VA –The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP), the leading authority in sustainable printing certifications for print manufacturers, has elected four new members to its Board of Directors.
The newly elected board members include members of the print industry and academia. They are:
— Dr. George Glisan, Reese Distinguished Professor of Graphic Arts & Imaging Technology at Appalachian State University
— Paul Glynn, Manager, Materials & Digital Technologies, Research and Development at Designtex
— Jessica Lawent, Air Management Transportation Specialist & Printing Sector Specialist at Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources
— Maureen Tholen, Sustainability Director, Safety & Graphics Business Group and Industrial Business Group, 3M
SGP and its Board of Directors have committed to aggressive goals in 2017. SGP anticipates certifying more than 50 new facilities this year, doubling the number of certified sustainable printers in the United States and Canada and continuing the Partnership’s drive toward a fully sustainable future for the print industry.

Supported by patrons including 3M, International Paper, and Hewlett-Packard, SGP is recognized as a global leader in eco-friendly innovation and best practices for the printing industry. In addition to certifying printers who comply with rigorous environmental best practices, the organization conducts conferences, seminars, academic studies, and sharing sessions to help print manufacturers and print buyers create sustainable supply chains. While each print facility is unique, certification will help these 50 new printers achieve a positive environmental impact similar to that of SGP’s previously certified facilities. Based on the Board Report of the SGP Certified Facility Survey, certified facilities can expect to see similar environmental impact.
