The Gilman Brothers Company supports print and graphics sustainability efforts as the newest SGP Patron
The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP), the leading certification authority in sustainable printing, announced today the support of The Gilman Brothers Company in its sustainability mission as a Gold SGP Patron.
Gilman Brothers–one of North America’s premier manufacturers of foamboard products for signage, display, graphics and wall art–joins a growing list of patrons, SGP certified facilities, brands, academic institutions, NGOs and associations dedicated to improving the sustainability of graphic communications as part of the SGP community.
SGP’s industry-focused approach to greener best practices is very much in-line with The Gilman Brothers Company’s dedication to greener print manufacturing processes. The 125-year-old, family-owned company’s dedicated efforts in providing more-sustainable high-performance products include its development of a green, 100% recyclable styrene-face foamboard alternative to expanded PVC, as well as a recyclable, all-paper honeycomb graphics board for display applications.
“At The Gilman Brothers Company, we are committed to preserving our environment and protecting the planet. Our operations and business practices are grounded in sustainability principles as we strive to eliminate waste and recycle everywhere possible,” said Jeff Blanchard, Director of Operations of The Gilman Brothers Company. “Our mission is to drive sustainability throughout the global supply chain by integrating sustainable practices in the overall procurement process and by partnering with sustainable companies.”
We are pleased to be a part of the SGP community of sustainable print suppliers,” says Bill Van Horn, Director of Sales. “We are proud to bring to the market products that not only perform exceptionally but are truly sustainable like our INFINITY styrene faced foamboard and EAGLECELL all-paper honeycomb graphics board.”
“Gilman Brothers continues to have its eye on the future with products and manufacturing processes that can reduce the environmental impact of printed display graphics,” said Theresa Vanna, Chair of SGP Marketing Committee and member of the SGP Board of Directors. “We are glad to have this long-standing industry supplier join SGP in its support for the continued sustainable evolution in the print and graphics space.”
