SGP Successful Participation at Sustainable Brands 16
More than 200 attendees visited the SGP and International Paper Connect Suite to discuss sustainable printing
SAYVILLE, NY – The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP) today announced the success of its participation at the Sustainable Brands 16 conference in San Diego. SB16 was held June 6-9, 2016 and included nearly 2,000 global business leaders in over 80 sessions, workshops and co-create sessions.
“The conversations at SB16 were critical to SGP. Brands and companies of all sizes are searching for sustainability improvements and one key topic resonating in our conversations is the need for printers, communication consultants and agencies to add sustainability through the supply chain,” said Lynn Krinsky, chair of SGP. “SB16 was a great platform for us to discuss the SGP printer certification and the value it brings to its customer-the brands and companies who work to improve their sustainability commitment.”
SGP had an exhibition stand in the Activation Hub, as well as the Connect Suite, which served as a networking and discussion point in the evening. The Connect Suite included interactive games and social media links educating and entertaining visitors about printing sustainability. The co-sponsor of the Connect Suite was International Paper, a SGP Platinum Patron.
“Our presence at SB16 would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors-International Paper, along with SGP-certified facilities Digital Color Concepts (DCC), Meisel a Division of RR Donnelley and Stella Color; and SGP Patrons, including Primeline Packaging and Fisher Textiles,” said Lynn Krinsky, chair of SGP.
The new Brand Leader patronage program was announced during the conference. The Brand Leader program gives brands an active engagement to the SGP Community and helps develop a higher level of sustainability for the print communication industry. During the show there were conversations with 50 interested in SGP certification for their print suppliers. Compared to last year, the overall number of visitors identified as part of the SGP community was significantly higher.
The next SGP-sponsored event is the 2016 Printing Industry Sustainability Conference on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016 in Las Vegas, NV. For more information: http://2016conference.sgppartnership.org/
