SGP to Host Community Day; Announces Speakers from Several Leading Organizations with Sustainability Missions and Business Models

The event aims to connect leading printers with brands and print buyers for a more sustainable supply chain

Sayville, NY – September 7, 2017 – The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership is pleased to announce that SGP Community Day will take place on November 14, 2017 in Portland, Oregon. The event, which will be hosted at The Duniway in downtown Portland, will bring together leading print professionals, brands and sustainability champions in an effort to grow strategic programs and partnerships. The conference will feature presentations and discussions on procurement, circular economy and sustainability practices from leading companies.

Speakers and topics include:

● Jeremy Carroll, Co-Founder of Latitude, a brand and experience design firm, will discuss the impact his organization has on their customers, supply chain and the world

● Pam Johnson, State Procurement Analyst for the State of Oregon, will discuss green procurement on the state and federal level

● Nicole Bassett, Co-Founder of The Renewal Workshop, will present a case study on how the textile industry can become circular

● Kim Holmes, VP of The Plastics Industry, will discuss the “second life” of plastics and a new initiative which will focus on identifying the technical and economic feasibility of recovering plastics from different industry sectors.

“SGP’s Community Day will bring together the leading sustainable printers in North America along with their suppliers and Fortune 500 brands to discuss how to further improve sustainability performance in the printing industry,” said Marci Kinter, SGP Executive Committee member and Technical Committee chair. We are excited to bring the SGP Community Event to the Pacific Northwest and spotlight the achievements of this vibrant community.” Additionally, attendees will be able to participate in various roundtables and networking opportunities throughout the day. At the close of Community Day, SGP will host an exclusive, invitation-only dinner for leading brands and members of the SGP community in Portland’s Cooper Hall with discussions on the latest in sustainability practices, across industries nationwide.
